Admission

Requirements

A degree from any Greek or foreign Higher Education Institution.

A proficient command (level B2) of English.

Admission criteria

  1. BA degree grade (up to 30 points).
  2. Courses and BA dissertation related to the MA field of study (up to 5 points).
  3. Proficient command of English (level C1 or C2) (up to 5 points).
  4. Proficient command of other foreign languages (level B2) (5 points for each foreign language and up to two additional foreign languages ​​other than English).
  5. Interview (up to 40 points).
  6. Relevant professional or research experience (up to 5 points).
  7. Research papers and/or conference presentations related to the MA field of study.

The admission base is 60 per 100 points. The selection process of the candidates is made by a three-member selection and examination committee consisting of faculty members who have undertaken a postgraduate course.

Tuition fees and scholarships

The postgraduate students pay to the Research Committee of AUTH as tuition fees the amount of 2400 euros and the payment is made as follows:

  • 800 euros with their registration in the first semester of studies.
  • 800 euros with their registration in the 2nd semester of studies.
  • 800 euros with their registration in the 3rd semester of studies.

Reimbursement of tuition fees per semester is allowed by decision of the Department Assembly, only in case there is an extremely serious reason for study termination at the request of the student and if the student sufficiently justifies the reasons for termination in writing to the Assembly Department no later than 25 days from the start of the courses.

Exemption from tuition fees is granted to postgraduate students due to economic or social criteria. A necessary condition for the exemption is the fulfillment of excellence conditions (holding a degree grade equal to or higher than 7.5/10 during the first cycle of studies). The exact criteria and supporting documents needed to be submitted are defined here.

Scholarships of the amount of 1,000 euros are awarded to the postgraduate students who will obtain the highest score upon graduation from the MA, in the normal duration of studies, i.e., in the first three semesters.
